The Ultimate Wedding Checklist for the Indian Brides

Once in life, you must have been the silent audience to a half dressed up bride looking for the essentials that she forgot to buy while shopping. And her mourning on the piece of garment which she was supposed to wear in the reception and is now kept in the cupboard unstitched, enjoying its raw avatar. Most of you must have had a flashback and a few must be keeping their fingers crossed so that it doesn’t happen to them. But what if I tell you, there’s an easy way to keep a check on all the things that you are supposed to do on your wedding so that everything goes well. A Year to Nine Months Before:

Determine your budget and choose the venue on time so that you may not regret it later. Choosing the ideal venue is like searching for the lost key in the pile of hay. One needs to put this thing on priority and book a spacious venue as early as possible. Also, make sure to book all the aforementioned things on time:

-Venue (for Engagement, Tilak, Ladies Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception)
-Caterer,
-Decorator

Don’t forget to maintain a written copy of the confirmation of the venue.

Four Months Before:

To make sure that everything is on point you need to talk to the vendors and keep a check on the following things. You can also take help of your siblings, cousins or close friends to levy the burden and save time.

-Place an order for the wedding invitation cards according to your preference.
-Have a meeting with the caterers and prepare the list of dishes and cuisines that are to be served to the guests.
-Musicians
-Photographers ,Videographers
-DJ
-Henna artist
-Beautician
-Hair Stylist
-Accommodation (hotel/guest house/resort/) for outstation guests accordingly
-Wedding band for Barat
-Get your wedding garments stitched from the boutique
-Draw up a schedule of the event and slot in each component (Puja, Ladies Sangeet, Mehendi/Cocktail, Marriage, and Reception).
-Don’t forget to book the priest or Pandit Ji who is going to take care of all the religious ceremonies

At least 2 Months before the wedding

When only two months will be left for your Big Day to finally arrive, you should be through with your shopping and focus on the things listed below.

-Finalize the menu and décor
-File an application for registering the marriage in the registry office.
-Buy wedding souvenirs for the guests
-Send the wedding invitation cards to all the guests
-Book transportation mode for the guests
-Do the booking for Honeymoon, Necessary arrangement for your Passport (optional)

A Month Before wedding

Now it’s time to finalize all the things and rejuvenate yourself to maintain that glow for the wedding day as nobody wants to see a tired bride.

-Finalize shopping for the wedding day
-Avail the services of the security personals for your Big Day
-Plan wedding hall layout and seating arrangements with your venue manager
-Get hair cut, facials, manicure pedicure whatever you wish

A week before the wedding

Talk to your vendors and make sure everything goes as planned.

– Reconfirm arrival times with vendors.
– Delegate small wedding day tasks. Choose someone to help you with the dress, touching up the makeup and to take care of your things.
– Appoint someone to be in charge of gifts (especially the enveloped sort), someone to hand out tips, and someone to be the point person for each vendor.
– Pick up your dress or make arrangements for the delivery.
– Check in one last time with the photographer. Supply him or her with a list of moments you want to be captured on film.

A day before the wedding

– Call the beautician to get a spa and final beauty treatment
– Call the Henna artists and get beautiful henna designs on your hands

On the wedding day

Appoint three or four persons (preferably educated well-mannered security Guards) and assign them the following responsibilities:

-Make sure that bride and groom´s outfit, jewellery, presents, all rented items and other items are safe.
-Look out for suspicious people likes freebies and thieves.
-Switch on generators during power failure.
-Handle the entire security of the wedding

You can also ask your close relatives to execute the following events without interruptions and make sure that the guests do not have any problem throughout the wedding.
